This HowTo will show you how to copy Firefox profile from one computer to another. Firefox is a good alternative to internet explorer. Most users will say it is faster as well as more secure than IE. I will say though that IE7 wasn’t bad, but the new version 8 of internet explorer tries to be so secure that it is just plain annoying.

How To Copy Firefox Profile From One Computer To Another

Go to the computer that holds the Firefox profile you want to copy

Go to Start > Run and type: %appdata\mozilla\firefox\profiles\

Click OK or press the Enter key

A folder will open that contains other another folder with its name ending in .default

Copy the contents of that folder a disk or jump drive

Go to the computer you want to copy your profile to

Go to Start > Run and type: %appdata\mozilla\firefox\profiles\

Click OK or press the Enter key

Go into your profile folder (ends in .default)

Delete all of the files inside that folder

Copy and paste the contents of the profile folder from the original machine

After copying that Firefox profile to the new computer, you should be able to open Firefox and have the same settings as you do on your other computer.

The Firefox profile holds things such as browsing history, passwords, auto-complete data, user styles plus a bunch of other Firefox related settings.
